Staying here allowed us easy access to both the breathtaking stjornarfoss waterfall just under 3 km away and peaceful walking trails leading to gorgeous views, making it a truly enjoyable experience for weekend explorers like us. the cozy cabin vibe was lovely, but the breakfast menu could use more vegan options for greater variety.

Stunning lakeside views enhanced our experience.
During my stay, I encountered several disappointments. The breakfast options were severely limited, with almost no variety, especially lacking vegan selections. Furthermore, access to the hotel was tricky due to poor ice removal, making it unsafe at times. Although the cozy atmosphere was appealing, these issues significantly detracted from my overall experience.

Definitely a Cozy Getaway for Couples
I loved the little personal touches like the heated bathroom floors and the super comfy beds. Plus, we had our own little patio by the lake where we watched the northern lights dance above. It was incredible!
Sure, it wasn’t exactly cheap, but honestly it was worth it.

I had an amazing time with my friends. We explored stunning waterfalls and chased the northern lights. The cabin vibe was perfect, especially with the beautiful views and cozy atmosphere. Breakfast was decent, and the shower had great pressure.
The breakfast menu was quite limited and didn't have many vegan options, which would have been nice.

I had an amazing time with my partner, exploring nearby landscapes and enjoying the wonderful views from our room. It was easy to take short hikes to the glacial lake and see the stunning moss-covered lava fields. I appreciated the friendly atmosphere at the restaurant where we had hearty meals. The location allowed us to see the northern lights. We felt at home in this hidden gem while enjoying our road trip through Iceland.
The breakfast menu could use more vegan options.

I stayed at Magma for two nights in January 2024. The location is fantastic, perfect for exploring the south coast. The room was clean and had a cozy atmosphere, great for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. I loved the comfortable beds and the heated bathroom floors. The views from my window over the surrounding hills were stunning. The restaurant offered delicious dinner options, but breakfast was quite basic with limited choices. I felt the breakfast could have more variety, especially for those looking for vegan options. One significant inconvenience was the front desk. they weren't available 24/7. I needed assistance one night and had to wait. Also, the door locks were tricky to operate. It would be great if they could improve on that. Despite these small issues, I really enjoyed my time and would come back to explore more.

Fantastic location, fantastic food, the restaurant serves some of the best meals I've ever had with a super classy atmosphere, and the staff were incredibly helpful when clearing snow around our car and sharing tips about catching the aurora.
For us it was ideal.
